No cookies. No personal data.

Know what's working on your website. Leave your visitors alone.

PlainAnalytics is simple web analytics that shows where visitors come from, what they read and what converts — on one clear page, without cookies, fingerprinting or storing personal data.

The PlainAnalytics dashboard: visitors, visits, pageviews, bounce rate and visit duration above an hourly traffic graph, with top channels and top pages below.

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Useful numbers in seconds, not reports in hours

PlainAnalytics answers the questions you actually ask about your site, and stays out of the way the rest of the time.

One-page dashboard

Visitors, sources, pages, locations and devices on a single screen. Click anything to filter everything.

No cookie banner needed

PlainAnalytics sets no cookies and keeps no personal data, so there is nothing to ask your visitors to consent to.

Lightweight script

About 2.5 KB gzipped, loaded asynchronously. Your pages stay fast and your Core Web Vitals stay green.

Goals & custom events

Count sign-ups, outbound clicks, file downloads, form submissions and scroll depth as conversions.

Funnels

Line up to eight goals and see exactly where visitors drop out of your sign-up or checkout flow.

Custom properties

Attach your own context — plan, author, logged-in state — to events and break down any report by it.

Revenue tracking

Send order values in their own currency and see total and average revenue per goal in yours.

Email reports & alerts

Weekly and monthly summaries in your inbox, plus alerts when traffic spikes or suddenly drops.

Share & embed

Make a dashboard public, share a password-protected link, or embed live stats on another page.

Privacy by design

Count visits, not people

Most analytics tools build a profile of every visitor. PlainAnalytics doesn't — it was designed from the first line of code to measure your website without identifying the people using it.

  • No cookies or local identifiers. Nothing is stored on your visitors' devices.
  • IP addresses are never stored. They're used once to look up a country and then discarded.
  • Visitors can't be followed. Unique counts use a salted hash that changes every day; old salts are deleted.
  • Your data stays yours. Never sold, never shared with advertisers, deleted when you ask.

Switching is easy

Move over in minutes, bring your history with you

PlainAnalytics uses a Plausible-compatible tracking API, so the plausible() calls already in your code keep working. You only change the script URL.

Coming from Google Analytics? Run PlainAnalytics alongside it for a couple of weeks, compare, then remove GA and its cookie banner.

  1. 1

    Add your site

Enter your domain and pick a reporting timezone. That's the whole set-up form.

  2. 2

    Swap the script

Paste your site's snippet into the <head>. Custom events and tagged links carry on as before.

    <script async src="https://plainwebanalytics.com/js/pa-XXXX.js"></script>
  3. 3

    Import your history

Upload the CSV export from Plausible and your past traffic appears alongside new data, on the same graphs.

Questions, answered

Do I need a cookie banner with PlainAnalytics?

PlainAnalytics doesn't use cookies or any other identifier stored on the visitor's device, and it doesn't collect personal data, so it doesn't need consent under GDPR or PECR on its own. If other tools on your site set cookies, you may still need a banner for those.

How can you count unique visitors without cookies?

For each request we compute a hash of the visitor's IP address, browser user agent and your site's domain, mixed with a random salt that is replaced every day. The hash lets us count a visitor once per day; because the salt is deleted, yesterday's hash can't be recreated or linked to tomorrow's. The IP address itself is never written to disk.

Will the script slow down my site?

No. The script is about 2.5 KB gzipped, loads with async so it never blocks rendering, and sends one small request per pageview.

I already use Plausible. What changes?

Only the script URL. PlainAnalytics keeps the window.plausible() API, plausible-event-* CSS classes and the Events API format, so your custom events, goals and integrations keep working. You can import your Plausible CSV export to keep your history.

Where is my data stored?

PlainAnalytics runs in a data centre in London, UK. Analytics data is stored in our own databases and is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, any time. Export your stats as CSV files from the dashboard or query them through the Stats API. If you delete a site, its data is deleted with it.

Analytics you can read in a minute, and explain to anyone

Set up takes about as long as reading this sentence twice.
